Celebrity Mum Fitness Tricks

March 6, 2018 /Posted byGem / 382 / 6

We’ve all seen the pictures and stories when a celebrity miraculously slims back down after they’ve had a child. Personal trainers and nutritionists aside, there are lots of tricks that the celebrities use that you can do at home. Plus you don’t need lots of fancy equipment or a gym membership! All of these exercises can be used in combination with your waist trainer or waist trimmer.

Tess Daly

Would you believe that everyone’s favourite TV presenter is in her late 40s?! The mum of two girls maintains her fabulous figure with a gentle yoga routine:

  • Crow pose
  • Bridge pose
  • Side plank with leg raise (eek!)
  • Crescent moon pose
  • Spinal twist

Frankie Bridge

Our favourite WAG singer and ex-Strictly contestant has an super-sleek figure, despite being mum to two boys under five (although that’s enough to keep anyone fit). Frankie favours a ballet based workout to keep her abs in check. You can do the same, with these exercises:

  • Plies – stand with your feet pointed out and hip width apart, bend your knees down to a right angle, then unbend and go up on to your toes, then feet back to the starting position
  • Plie kicks – as before, but when you unbend, elegantly stretch one leg out to the side before returning to the start. Repeat on the other side.
  • Shoulder stand kicks – lay on the floor and go up into a traditional shoulder stand position, scissor kick your legs whilst you are in the air
  • Bicycle crunches – our abs favourite!

Jessica Alba

Jessica is a new mum to a baby boy, as well as having two daughters. Famously she wore a double waist trainer for three months after the birth of her youngest daughter, but it’s a bit too early for her to start (her son was born on New Year’s Eve). In between pregnancies, Jessica is a big fan of working out at home with a routine using 3kg dumbbells:

  • Arm raises
  • Shoulder presses
  • Leg lunges
  • Chest presses
  • Jab crosses

Kate Beckinsale

Kate has an 18 year old daughter, and it’s hard to decide which of the has the most enviable figure! The actress, who is in her early 40s, stunned the paparazzi at the recent Oscars after-parties in a figure hugging gown. Here are her exercises of choice:

  • Lateral raises (with dumbbells)
  • Deadlifts (with dumbbells)
  • Single leg squats

If you have given birth within the last three months or have an existing health condition, please consult your midwife, health visitor or GP before embarking on any exercise programme. If you experience any breathing difficulties or restricted movement whilst using a waist trainer or trimmer, cease use immediately and allow your body to rest fully.

Great tips. I’m a big fitness fan and love mixing up weight training with HIIT and pilates workouts too. #bestandworst
